I forgot that I bought this Captain America costume last fall (90% off at Walmart!) - I found it in a box in Ty's closet. I stuffed him in it (literally.) and sent him in to the girls' room and listened for their reaction. It. was. awesome. They were laughing so hard- and then they dug out their SuperHerocostumesand (of course) we had to go outside to take a picture. :) Too bad the girls insist they need to be Jessie and Dorothy this fall... it would be pretty cute to show up as the SuperFamily at the Fall Festival! :)
Pink plate. Purple bib. Princess cup:Pink diaper. Reaching for a baby doll:Not that he minds. (Yet.) :)Of course, he makes up for it all by getting in to his sisters' stuff:That's better, Buddy: He'll be okay.
We've now got TWO little gymnasts/tap dancers:The girls and Ty love these: (I don't.)You can hear their thoughts, right?? ("ANOTHER picture?"):We ate lunch at the office today. The kids brought their birthday presents for JD. They picked them out by themselves-
Ty picked him a "Beat-ball":Unwrapping Cate's present:Halle and Cate bought JD "Cole and Dolly" for his birthday- they insisted it was what he really really wanted: :) Obviously.
It's JD's birthday today. We had a tiny party tonight after church:He requested the same cake he always picks- it's really good:Especially with a little melted jam on the plate.Yesterday his parents drove to Memphis to meet us for a birthday lunch: (Like last year!)Two little girls were very happy to see Gran-Gran and Pepa:JD hasn't gotten his presents from us yet- isn't that horrible?! But I think he's had a pretty good day. :)
Those candles can't be packed away until next month. I'm next...
One of the highlights of our Kansas stay were the horseback rides:Ty's horse:Just kidding- he got real rides too!:For two girls who have declared for the last few months that they are going to be cowgirls when they grow up, it was a real treat to spend time on Papa's horses. Seriously. (And I love that now they're playing more with their stick horses than their princesses at home!)
This picture makes me think of Hildie. Remember that movie- Thunderhead, Son of Flicka? No? Hmm- it was a good one.The little girl in the movie was a pest that stood on the gate all the time yelling for "Key-en!" Still don't remember? Okay, never mind.
Thanks for taking the time to let us ride, Dad- we all appreciate it!
The girls are already ready to go back and visit Cole and Dolly!
