BallgameNight

Last night we played Rhema Bible College (Tulsa.) It was our first *mostly* healthy game in a loooooong time (thank you, Lord!) And we won. Finally. After a long losing skid. I don't even know what our record is right now. Something like 10 -10, which is depressing after starting off so well. Injuries and guarantee (money) games will do that to a season, though...

Halle loves dancing to the music.
It cracks me up that her favorite one played is Ring of Fire (such a random ballgame song!)
Cate had a pretty good night, despite the lateness and her current cold:
JD at work:
After the game, the girls hitched a ride to the locker room:
(Halle always asks "Is it a happy locker room today?" after the final buzzer. She knows if it's not she can't go with Daddy...)

It has been so much easier taking the girls to games this year than I anticipated. In fact, as weird as it sounds, it's easier when I have them by myself than when I have help. (Although I'm sure the girls like it a lot better when there's someone there paying attention to them!) They know the routine well:
  • 'OhSayCanYouSee'= hand on heart. Stand still.
  • Prayer= keep standing still. Be quiet.
  • Sit down= Cate next to me, Halle close to Cate. Do not move.
  • 1st half= Play doh (no mixing.) or other toys out of the BallgameBag
  • Halftime= run around (stay in the gym, listen for Mommy) or watch the 'show'
  • 2nd half= snacks (generally popcorn from home and an orange), then more toys
  • Buzzer= clean up, jackets on then run around or locker room
And there you go. They play. I watch the game. Unless there's an emergency potty run (always.) Or some reason for a time-out (my lap.) :)
