Cate. By herself.

Is hilarious.
Halle went with JD to high school bball games on Friday and Saturday (there is a 3 year old girl somewhere that has been to more games than her, but we certainly don't know her.)

Cate and I got to hang out from lunchtime on both days- and it probably is the most time that I've spent with Cate by herself. Ever. We loved it! Or, at least I loved it. Cate did too, but I could tell she was sad at bed time when Halle wasn't around.

Halle looked so big, going out the door with her backpack:
The weather has been nice. We spent most of our time outside:

Yesterday afternoon Cate and I went to one of our local parks, and (I know I shouldn't think this way, but...) it was full of the most clean and diverse little kids I've ever seen there! We were having the greatest time and then it happened. A police car came squealing into the parking lot behind a red truck. The truck pulled up close to our car, with the police car blocking behind it and behind us. And it was close to time for us to go home for supper. I was so annoyed. A few minutes later another police car pulled in behind us, and I watched as they poured out liquor bottle after bottle onto the ground. Why do we always see strange people/things at this park? 45 minutes later the men were put into one of the police cars, and both cars moved out of the way so Cate and I could leave. Finally.

While we were waiting for the car to be unblocked, Cate and another little girl were playing on a certain climber that has a thing with different letters on it, and Cate pointed to them and said, "A, H, B, O, O"- or something like that. Completely wrong, but I thought it was funny and laughed. The other little girl's daddy said, "Wow! She knows her letters?!" (Imagine that with an Indian accent.) I didn't know if he misheard her or if he didn't know the letters either so I just said, "Uh, she just knows what letters are..." I could tell he was watching her after that- she was talking & doing a lot more than his daughter, who was only a month younger. I always feel the need to apologize for that, as stupid as it sounds.

It was an awkward trip to the park.
