Buddies

I looked out the screen door earlier (JD was grilling and Halle was "swimming") and I saw Halle sitting at the edge of her pool and talking with Indy who was sitting as still as a picture beside her. It looked like they were deep in conversation- I ran to grab the camera and when I got back this was all I could catch:

Sticky Tape and Sleepy Baby

Yesterday I let Halle play with a little piece of tape- it kept her entertained for about 10 minutes while I was cleaning. This morning while I was fixing her breakfast she kept trying to tell me something, and like I sometimes do I just nodded and said, "uh-huh" and pretended I knew what she was talking about. It kind of made her mad, so I had to explain that I didn't know what she was saying. After breakfast she was still talking about it so I told her to show me. She went straight to the office and grabbed the tape- that's when I figured out she was say, "I want some STICKY-TAPE!" :)

Here she is, having a grand old time with her sticky-tape:

Videos

This one is Halle at nap time yesterday. She didn't go to sleep at all, and every time I checked on her she was doing something "creative"- let's call it that, shall we? Here she has taken all of the cushions off of the rocking chair and piled them on her bed:

I have tried and tried to film Halle singing "Zaccheus"- she sings the entire song ALL THE TIME- that is, until the camera comes out. This is the most I've been able to catch:

I thought this one was cute- Halle pointing out Baby Cate:

And last, but not least- this one is for all of you out there that don't believe Halle is two now:

2 months

Cate is two months old today! She stays awake for longer stretches now- although she still sleeps A LOT. She responds to people talking to her- she smiles, laughs and coos. She is just starting to bat at things with her hands, too. (I know, I know- not very exciting for those who don't have kids yet...).

Here are some new pictures:

Go Dog Go!

This video is Halle acting out "Go Dog Go!" In the book (by PD Eastman) two dogs keep showing up and saying "Hello again! Do you like my hat?" Or something like that. I thought it was funny that she randomly chose to act it out. She has such a crazy memory!

Baby Cate

I realized, looking at our blog just now, that I have WAY more pictures posted of Halle than Cate! It is NOT out of favoritism! It's just that most of Cate's pictures look pretty much the same right now- she's laying on her back, looking up! :) So here is a post dedicated strictly to the littlest member of our family!

We all love this easy-going baby, and we say all the time,"Cate just FITS." I don't know what we ever did without her.

"Bates-Vegas"

We spent the past few days in Batesville, or "Bates-Vegas" or "B-Town" as JD affectionately refers to it. We got to spend some time with his parents and grandparents, and celebrate his Grandpa Parker's 83rd birthday!
